Worship Suggestion: #79
The sound file is looped.
1. As the song plays the first time, (During Verse 1) make remarks about the blessings of God which we receive with each new day.
All of these blessings are because of the sacrifice Christ made for us. Emphasize that we should take time for spiritual renewal, and
to reset our footsteps on the path of being ordered by God. We could begin at Easter each year, and spend time in spiritual reflection and renewal. Then as we continue throughout the year, we will proceed with renewed hope, renewed inspiration, and renewed joy and peace.
2. As the song continues, (During Verses 2 - 3) read the scripture form Ephesians 4:23-32. Let the song end.
3. When the song restarts, sing verses 1-3 together.
4. Prayer and Meditation.
At the Cross
Alas, and did my Savior bleed,
And did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For sinners such as I?
Refrain:
At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity, grace unknown,
And love beyond degree! (Refrain)
Well might the sun in darkness hide,
And shut His glories in
When Christ, the mighty Maker died,
For man, the creature's sin. (Refrain)
