Matthew 2

1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Worship Suggestion:
The sound file is looped.
1. When the song begins, (During Verse 1) make remarks about how Jesus is the King of Kings. The people of the Gentile Nations worshiped our savior at the time of His birth. The Wise Men began to follow the star, long before His birth,

in order to reach the manger at the appointed time. Emphasize that these were great men of science and learning. Their journey was long, but their inspiration was the Star in The East. They came to Bethlehem with awe in their hearts and spirits for the Christ Child called the King of Kings.
2. As the song continues, (During Verses 2 - 3) read the scripture found in the book of Matthew 2: 1-12.  Let the song end.
3. When the song restarts, sing Verses 1-3 together.
4. Prayer and Meditation.

We Three Kings of Orient Are

  • We Three Kings of Orient Are #64 2:51

We three kings of Orient are;
bearing gifts we traverse afar,
field and fountain, moor and mountain,
following yonder star.
Refrain:
O star of wonder, star of light,
star with royal beauty bright,
westward leading, still proceeding,
guide us to thy perfect light.

Born a King on Bethlehem's plain,
gold I bring to crown him again,
King forever, ceasing never,
over us all to reign. (Refrain)

Frankincense to offer have I;
incense owns a Deity nigh;
prayer and praising, voices raising,
worshiping God on high. (Refrain)
