Lamentations Chapter 3
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are
not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
Worship Suggestion:
The sound file is looped.
1. As the song plays the first time, introduce the text and background concerning Jeremiah and the plight of the Children of Israel. It was a time of struggle, estrangement, and suffering. Yet, Jeremiah reminds the people that God is still
with them and God is forever faithful to His people. We can find inspiration, hope, joy, and peace if we meditate on the faithfulness of God.
2. Then, read the scripture from Lamentations 3:21-33. Let the song end.
3. As the song plays the second time, sing verses 1-3.
3. Prayer and Meditation.
Standing on the Promises of God
and the Joyful Harts Music Library
Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
through eternal ages let his praises ring;
glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
standing on the promises of God.
Refrain:
Standing, standing,
standing on the promises of Christ my Savior;
standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.
Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God. (Refrain)
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
bound to him eternally by love's strong cord,
overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
standing on the promises of God. (Refrain)
