Sidewalk Chalk

With chalk we write our name,
Make a picture, or draw a game.
Hopscotch board, or beanbag toss,
Make a line to hop across.

Colorful fun for all who play
Clean-up is easy. Rain washes away,
All of the chalk-time fun and games,
Pictures and things I wrote today.

I return the chalk to its proper place.
Wash my hands and check my face.
Dust everything off, my clothes and shoes,
I put away the things I use.

Safety first for chalk-time play
Makes sidewalk fun for another day!
