O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem;
come and behold him, born the King of angels;
Refrain:
O come, let us adore him; O come, let us adore him;
O come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord!
Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation,
sing, all ye citizens of heav'n above;
glory to God, all glory in the highest;(Refrain)
Yea, Lord, we greet thee, born this happy morning;
Jesus, to thee be all glory giv'n;
Word of the Father, late in flesh appearing (Refrain)
O Come All Ye Faithful
Matthew 2
1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days
of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen
his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Worship Suggestion:
The sound file is looped.
1. As the song plays the first time make remarks about the
passage of Matthew which tells of the quest of the wise men
to find the Christ Child. Think about the marvelous feeling that
the Wise Men had as they followed the star, in anticipation
of meeting and worshipping the Holy Child, the King of Kings.
The shepherds were also included in the visitation of the Holy Family in the manger. The shepherds spread the news of the
birth of Jesus throughout the land.
2. As the song plays the second time, read the scripture from the book of Matthew 2:1-2, 9-12 and Luke 2:8-11. Let the song end.
3. As the song restarts, sing all verses together.
4. Prayer and meditation.
