Isaiah 9
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Worship Suggestion:
The sound file is looped.
1. When the song plays the first time, (During Verse 1) make remarks about how the Bible articulates who Jesus Christ is to His People. The description in the book of Isaiah, and the words of Jesus Himself in the New Testament tell us who He is to us now, as well as who He shall be in the future and forever. We can find comfort in the words the Bible has provided for us. The name of Jesus tells of His work and His mission. Meditate on His name and you will find encouragement for this present age.
2. As the song continues, (During Verse 2-3), read the scripture from Isaiah 9:6, Acts chapter 2:38-47 and Acts 4:8-12. Let the song end.
3. When the song restarts, sing Verses 1-3 together.
4. Prayer and Meditation.
The name of Jesus is so sweet,
I love its music to repeat;
It makes my joys full and complete...
The precious name of Jesus!
Refrain:
“Jesus,” O how sweet the name!
“Jesus,” ev'ry day the same;
“Jesus,” let all saints proclaim...
Its worthy praise forever.
I love the name of Him whose heart
Knows all my griefs, and bears a part;
Who bids all anxious fears depart...
I love the name of Jesus.
That name I fondly love to hear,
It never fails my heart to cheer;
Its music dries the falling tear...
Exalt the name of Jesus.
